Editing in Camera Raw
I shot this photo in Raw, I loved the painting and I decided that I wanted to keep it the same but wanted to change the color and a few other small things. When I took it into camera raw and went to HSL/Grayscale. I pulled the colors to pull out all the red. I also changed the saturation to pull out only the red.
I liked doing this because it helped shave off so much time. I really like the ability this gives me to create more crisp images. I relax a little in my photo persuasion and feel comfortable knowing I got a friend called camera raw.

Panorama
Lonely- 29 Jan 2011, 3:30p.m. Rexburg ID,
f/2.5 1/30 Cannon PowerShot S90
Work, Work and more work. This is my fourth photo-shoot in trying to find the perfect images to put into a Panoramic picture. I decided this one was a keeper. I wanted two things, 1) Simplicity and 2) to make an image look like a negative. I accomplished both.
The Process
I took the three images and connected them. After that I overlaid the image on top of an old negative. I turned the negative black and white, inverted the image and put a haze around the edges.

Adjustment Layer
John Deere- 22 Jan 2011, 11:10 a.m. f/2.5 1/1,600 Cannon Power shot S90
The Final Picture is on top and to the Far right. I put the tree images in the picture so you could see the process I took in having a more defined sky. The first picture shows the origanal John Deere green. I wanted to keep that color, I also wanted to change the sky so it didn't look washed out. I added an Adjustment Layer to the photo called color, this gave me the option to morph the colors. being a snow filled day I enhanced all the blues and purples I could. This created the middle Photo. So my final step was to take the paintbrush tool selecting black and I painted over the tractor. This told the masked layer to leave the tractor alone. This process gave me my final project.

The Smart Object was good for me to learn. I enjoyed being able to play with a photo and not worrying about trying to make it realistic. I actually had to adjust my photo multiple times, that caused me to go back and be able to start fresh with my original picture. I turned this chicken into a smart object than I I enhanced the red in the picture and gave it a heavy water-brush look. I really like the way it turned out. If you can't tell I masked out the bird in the bottom image.

I might have just found a new love in my life. Taking pictures of animal was a great experience for me. My three main challenges were, first, the brightness of the snow. I didn't want to revert back to any snow setting so I tried manually to fix the problem myself. outside on manuel I really sped up my shutter speed, and lowered my aperture, I felt that started to give me the look I wanted. My next problem was getting the animals to cooperate with me. My last problem was the Cold, it was hard to find great shots trying to stay warm.

Brandy- 15 Jan 2011 5:00 pm, Star Valley Wy, f/2 1/60 Power Shot S90
Blending the images were fun. It gave me a lot of creative ideas that I am not ready to use. Brandy was a horse I met this weekend. I heard many stories about how she performed amazingly for her owner. I really liked the image of the eye. I should have spent more time on it because I really could do a lot. However I feel I am really pleased with how it turned out.

Green was a harder color than I expected because of the many shades. I choose out door shots with an overcast sky. The light one some were so beautiful, however other objects seemed very dull with that allotted lighting. I was a great experience to be outdoors and to try to capture what my eyes could see. If I could do anything different I would use a different camera when taking a deep depths of field. I love my Cannon but as of now I feel that is one of its great weaknesses.

Editing Post
1983, Dec 23 2010, 9:AM, Garden City KS
1974, Dec 23 2010, 9AM, Garden City KS
Both pictures were taken to eventually become the background for a clock. The 1974 Yamaha motorcycle was long and tedious. As you can probably see the spokes on the bike took me an extended amount of time. If I was doing it again, I would have taken the the picture on another background so the detail in the spokes would have been more identifiable.

These pictures all came from Israel where I lived for a while. I choose these picture because there were aspects in each that stood out as a favorite in my mind. All of these pictures are great by accident. My goal is to first learn how to recreate these pictures, and finally to be able to become more artistic as I shoot. My favorite picture is the picture of the bike, I love the motion of the car, it seems to draw a conclusion of the whole picture in my mind.
